يركز بحثه على الديانات التوحيدية الثلاثة في الشرق الأدنى وحوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط من العصور القديمة المتأخرة إلى العصور الوسطى العليا.

له كتاب "العدالة المشتركة" (2011)، الذي يتناول حياة اليهود الربانيين والمسيحيين الشرقيين في الفترة الإسلامية الأولى.
