عضو هيئة تدريس في جامعة ديكن (أستراليا)، كلية العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية، كلية الآداب والتربية.
حاصل على شهادة الدكتوراه (السياسة) من جامعة موناش (استراليا) عام 2011م.
خلال دراسته حصل على جائزة إنديفور المرموقة لتركيا (50000 دولار)، مما مكنه من قضاء سنة في تركيا بين عامي 2008 و 09. استكشفت أطروحته الفكر اللاهوتي الديني للحركة وتأثيرها على الأنشطة التعليمية للحركة، وما إذا كان ينبغي وصف الحركة بأنها منظمة خيرية / مجتمع مدني.
محاضر في دراسة الدين في جامعة ديكين. كتب أطروحة الدكتوراه على المنظمة التركية المعروفة باسم حركة غولن، التي نشرتها مطبعة جامعة أكسفورد بعنوان "بيت الخدمة: حركة غولن والطريق الثالث للإسلام".
تتركز اهتماماته البحثية حول :
الحركات الإسلامية، والسياسة التركية والمجتمع، والدين والتنمية، والشرق الأوسط.
