دكتورة إسلامية بريطانية ، ومعلمة ، ومتحدثة عامة ، وأكاديمية ، ومؤلفة ، ومقدمة برامج تلفزيونية ، وفيلسوف في الطائفة الشيعة الإسلامية.
ولدت لعائلة مسيحية ، وهي ابنة الكاتب الشهير غراهام ماسترتون.
اعتنقت الإسلام في عام 1999وتشيعت عام 2003م .
انتقلت إلى لندن في سن الثامنة عشرة. التحقت بمدرسة الدراسات الشرقية والأفريقية بلندن ، وحصلت على درجة البكالوريوس في اللغة اليابانية ، ودرجة الماجستير في الأدب المقارن في شرق آسيا والأدب الأفريقي ، ودرجة الدكتوراه في الأدب الفرانكفوني والإسلامي في غرب أفريقيا.
وتشمل اهتماماتها جذورالتشيع من التصوف الإسلامي. الأدب المقارن والفلسفة المقارنة.
قامت بكتابة أعمال بحثية مشتركة للمجلات الأكاديمية ، حيث كانت مواضيعها الجذابة والمثيرة هي طرق التصوف الإسلامي الشيعي بما في ذلك الأدب المقارن والفلسفة.
عملت في وسائل الإعلام الإيرانية وقنوات البث والتلفزيون. عملت سابقاً في كلية بيركبيك حيث درست التصوف الإسلامي. وقد قدمت سلسلة عن الدين والثقافة مع الصحافة التلفزيونية. بالنسبة إلى تلفزيون اهل البيت ، تقوم بمقابلة المثقفين الإسلاميين وتقدم وجهات نظرهم حول الإسلام الشيعي.
وهي أيضا محاضر كبير في كلية لندن الإسلامية.
