ولدت في عام 1968.
عضو هيئة التدريس في جامعة مارتن لوثر- هاله فيتنبرغ، المعهد الشرقي - الدراسات المسيحية الشرقية،
درست الكلاسيكية، وعلم اللغة، والفلسفة، واللغات الشرقية، وتاريخ الكنيسة، ودعم النص اللغوي تحليل النص واللاهوت في ألمانيا وليختنشتاين وسويسرا والولايات المتحدة. كما كرست الكثير من وقتها لدراسة اللغات العربية والسريانية والإثيوبية والعبرية والأرمنية والجورجية والقبطية.
في عام 2001 حصلت على الدكتوراه مع أطروحة حول الجدل اللاهوتي المحيطة بطرس الإيبيرية في فلسطين في القرن الخامس.
في عام 2011 حصلت هورن على تأهيلها من جامعة توبنغن .
بعد عدة تعيينات جامعية في الولايات المتحدة، أصبحت الدكتور هورن زميل هومبولت في جامعة هومبولت في برلين وجامعة ريغنسبورغ.
وبدأت إجراء البحوث في جامعة فري ونيفرزيتات برلين كزميل هيزنبرغ في عام 2014. وقد حولت دفغ هذه الزمالة في "هايزبرغ" في "لغة وثقافات الشرق المسيحي" في جامعة ملاهي ميشيغان.
