István Kristó-Nagy
محاضر في اللغة العربية والدراسات الإسلامية – جامعة إكستر ,
ولد في بودابست، المجر.
درس التاريخ واللغة العربية في جامعة Pázmány Péter الكاثوليكية (MA-S في عام 2000).
ونال الدكتوراه في الدراسات العربية من جامعة لوراند إيوتفوس وجامعة دي تولوز2 , عام 2006 .
واستكمل مسيرته الأكاديمية من قبل فرصة ثرية للعمل كمرشد ثقافي في أكثر من عشرين بلدا في جميع أنحاء أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وجنوب آسيا وأمريكا اللاتينية.
وهو يتكلم باللغة الهنغارية، الإنجليزية، العربية، الفرنسية، الإيطالية، الأسبانية .
تتركز اهتماماته البحثية في التاريخ الاجتماعي والثقافي للإسلام بالمقارنة مع الحضارات الأخرى , وتطور الأدب العربي والفكر السياسي الاسلامي ومهتم جدا في التفاعل بين البنى الاجتماعية والفرد. وماهية الهياكل الاجتماعية التي تشجع الأفراد على تحقيق إمكاناتهم إلى أقصى درجة ممكنة، وماذا يمكن للأفراد القيام به لتعزيز هذه الهياكل في المجتمع. ويمكن اعتبار بحثه على ابن المقفع - كدراسة حالة مفصلة عن هذه الأسئلة،
وخلال عمله حاول استكشاف التبريرات الدينية لشرعنة عنف الدولة ضد الفرد.
وقد ركز على المحاكم الاسلامية التي اضطهدت ( الزنادقة ) في عهد الخليفتين العباسيين المهدي والهادي , كواحد من ابرز امثلة الاضطهاد لبقية الطوائف في الاسلام ,
